Sung Soon Kim


President, International Korean Educators Network

Sung Soon Kim is the co-founder and current president of the International Korean Educators Network (IKEN, 2010–present), co-founder and current chairperson of the Korean Language Teachers Association in the USA (2012–present), and a veteran Korean language textbook developer (2010–present).

She has spearheaded the creation of innovative Korean language curricula, including the Global Korean series featuring influential figures such as Philip Jaisohn (Seo Jae-pil). She has developed the IKEN Standard Korean Curriculum since 2010.

Dedicated to advancing Korean language education and cultural understanding, she organizes the annual Korean American Studies Conference (2023–present), the Korean History and Culture Seminar for Educators (2004–present), and the Korean Language Teacher’s Conference (2010–present), bringing together educators and scholars to share research, resources, and best practices.
