Sam Park
Representative, Georgia House of Representatives
Representative Sam Park is the longest-serving Korean American in the Georgia State Legislature and the first Korean American elected to a leadership position as Whip of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus.
The grandson of refugees from the Korean War and the son of Korean immigrants, Sam was born and raised in Georgia by a single mother. Inspired by his mother’s battle with cancer, he ran for office in 2016 to expand access to healthcare—unseating a three-term incumbent to become the first Korean American Democrat elected to the Georgia Legislature.
Sam has since been re-elected five times and continues to champion access to healthcare, education, and housing. In addition to his service in the Legislature, he is General Counsel for Positive Impact Health Centers, where he works to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Georgia.
